Growing up, Valerie was always drawn to the arts, and she would watch behind the scenes of music videos and movies with great intent. Valerie could see the logic and placement of products and colors all coming together and loved the reaction that the final products drew from the viewers. "I felt like I was watching magic happen, and I knew that it was the path for me."
Creatively self-taught, Valerie immediately began working with local magazines and runway shows after High School. Valerie was also able to start fine-tuning her clean and professional makeup techniques as in house MUA for a modeling agency based in San Diego. Valerie's name began to spread, and M.A.C Cosmetics offered her a job that turned into an amazing relationship that she still cherishes with the globally iconic makeup brand.
She left the company after 4 years to continue to pursue her life's dream of being an international fashion and beauty makeup artist and quickly got picked up to do backstage makeup for Mercedes Benz Fashion Weeks in New York City, and later: Paris. She has been a resident MUA for Mercedes Benz Fashion Week for 7 Seasons, where she has assisted the incredible talents of Alex Box, Tom Pecheux, Inge Grognard, Christelle Cocquet and others.
Valerie Vonprisk has developed into not only a highly respected freelance artist in her own right, but also a behind the scenes artist to watch.
Valerie is currently based on the West Coast but travels all over to produce makeup art.
